Diagnostiek

􀂾 Laboratorium (elektrolyten, nierfunctie, stolling, bloedgas).

􀂾 indien mogelijk inbrengen maagsonde (evt scopisch)

􀂾 X thorax / X-BOZ (mediastinaal of abdominaal vrij lucht)

Behandeling

De behandeling is erop gericht de vaak ernstige afwijkingen in het milieu intérieur te herstellen (zuur base afwijkingen en stollingsstoornissen).

􀂾 Direct na ingestie: verdunning met water. Daarna niets per os. Geen maagspoeling of inductie tot braken.

􀂾 Bij respiratoire insufficiëntie of ernstige inspiratoire stridor: intubatie.

􀂾 Bij haemodynamische instabiliteit: opname ICU en start inotropica (dopamine).

􀂾 Bij oesofagus- of maagperforatie: operatie (resectie of drainage) en start antibiotica (amoxicilline en metronidazol).
